Prof. Surinder Singh and the team from Raj Academy will be coming to Central Gurdwara Manchester on Saturday 24th October for a Gurmat Sangeet workshop and kirtan darbar.

We are pleased to announce that the much respected Ragi Jatha, Bhai Satwinder Singh Ji & Bhai Harvinder Singh Ji (Delhi Wale) will be reciting live Kirtan at Central Gurdwara on Saturday 4th July 2009 as per the flyer below.

Surjit Singh Khalsa Ji will be coming to Central Gurdwara Manchester on Saturday 20th June starting 3.30pm sharp to 6.30pm to give us a Mind Set workshop that has been designed specially for a better lifestyle in health, wealth and relationships. He comes to us from the Far East (Malaysia) where is is much respected. All the Sadh Sangat are requested to attend to improve their lives and benefit from this 3 hour session.

After months of planning, Central Gurdwara is pleased to announce the starting of Kundalini Yoga classes for all regardless of Faith, Background or Gender.

The FREE taster session will take place on Saturday 23rd May 2009 at 4pm to 5pm, as per the poster below

Chioneso Kulwant Kaur is a registered Kundalini Yoga Instructor and Therapist with over 28 years experience. Since 1973 she has been a student of Yogi Bhajan, the master of Kundalini Yoga and has taught and conducted workshops in North America, the Caribbean and Great Britain. She is a musician, vocalist and poet and often includes aspects of these arts in her therapy. She deems it a privilege to serve the community by sharing the ancient and efficacious philosophy and techniques of Kundalini Yoga, so that all who learn and practise may explore their truly limitless potential and triumph through life’s challenges.

Bhai Niranjan Singh Ji (Jawadi Kalan Wale) and Sant Anoop Singh (Una Wale) will be performing Kirtan at Central Gurdwara Manchester as per the poster below. All Sadh Sangat is requested to attend all three days.

We are pleased to announce that Bhai Harjinder Singh Ji (Sri Nagar Wale) will be returning to Central Gurdwara and performing Kirtan on FRIDAY 16th May 2008 from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.

Sunday 27th April 2008

Manchester Sikhsoc will be having a huge event on Sunday 27th April. There will be 3 very articulate speakers delivering intellectually stimulating talks:

Reverend Dr John Parry, a visiting lecturer of Guru Nanak Dev University (Punjab), will be speaking on the influence that the Gurus have had on him. He is part of the United Reformed Church and has a PhD from the University of Birmingham. The title of his thesis was 'The Word of God is Not Bound: The Encounter of Sikhs and Christians in India and the U.K'. He has written several published articles on Sikhism.

S. Harbinder Singh Rana, Director of the Anglo Sikh Heritage Trail, will be speaking on the Reverend C F Andrews and his encounters with the Sikhs. He is a very well known as a speaker and figurehead for the UK Sikh community. Under his guidance the trail has recently secured a large amount of funding for 3 years of research. His vision and leadership was paramount in helping to organise the Arts Of The Sikh Kingdoms (V&A, 1999)

Christy Campbell, author of "The Maharaja's Box", will be speaking on the Life of Maharaja Duleep Singh. He has been a journalist for the Telegraph newspaper and has authored 3 books in total. The Maharaja's Box is a bestselling book on Sikh History and was the catalyst in the rediscovery of the lost heritage that was the life of Duleep Singh. Christy has never done a talk in Manchester so this is a particularly great opportunity.

There will also be kirtan which may be performed by the Acapella Jatha.
