We are very grateful to Dr. Harkirtan Ji for sparing his time to increase the knowledge of the Sadh Sangat and particularly our younger generation.

- Trinity High School came yet again for the last of 4 consecutive educational visits with 60 more pupils. In total we have had 240 pupils in the last four weeks from year 8. The visit lasted three hours in total. The 60 students and 4 teachers left very happy and gave good positive feedback. They are planning on bringing 240 student in all in the month of November. - The work on the new Washroom Project started on Schedule early this morning. The Sadh Sangat has continued to donate generously and from what appeared to be a target to achieve in the far away distance, it is now fast reaching its goal. We just need another £4286 to complete this project. Please donate whatever you can to achieve this goal.

- Central Gurdwara held a second First Aid Course which was organised by the Red Cross. It was very successful and well attended. Aspects of the course included the following; Choking, How to put someone in the recovery position, Nose bleeds, Heart Attacks and other First Aid advice as people requested information. We requested Red Cross to offer this course as we feel it is extremely important that atleast one family member is fully aware of what to do in an emergency

- Our current Hazoori Ragi Jatha (Bhai Hapreet SIngh Ji Preet, Bhair Gurbhej SIngh Ji Preet and Bhai Gurpreet SIngh Ji Preeet) have left us after 6 months of Service. On behalf of the entire Sadh Sangat of Manchester we would like to wish them all the best with their future employment and we hope they will continue with the theme of Gurmat Vichar wherever they are.

- Bhai Harbans Singh Ji (Jagadhari Wale) visited Central Gurdwara Manchester to celebrate Pehla Parkash Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and recite Gurbani Kirtan. The programme was very well attended with over 500 Sadh Sangat present at one point during the Kirtan Darbar and thoroughly enjoyed by all the Sadh Sangat.

The Management Committee of Central Gurdwara recognises the great importance of openness, transparency and accountability when dealing all Gurdwara matters, especially Gurdwara Funds. - A SIKH COURSE was held at Central Gurdwara Manchester in our new multi purpose room. It was well attended with around 70-80 people present.

- Sant Baba Ranjit Singh Ji (Dhadrian Wale) visited Central Gurdwara Manchester to recite Gurbani Kirtan & Katha. The programme was the most well attended yet with around 1000 Sadh Sangat present and was thoroughly enjoyed by all the Sadh Sangat. - The Gurdwara Sahib held its AGM (Annual General Meeting) in which the Gurdwara Management Committee elections took place. The results of the elections have been updated on our website and can be found at http://centralgurdwara.org/wiki/Management_Committee. This is why it is so important for the Sangat to become "members" of the Gurdwara so that they can attend the AGM, vote at the AGM and nominate themselves for the Gurdwara Comittee.

- Surjit Singh Khalsa Ji visited Central Gurdwara Manchester on Saturday 20th June from 3.30pm to 6.30pm to present a Mind Set workshop that was been specially designed for a better lifestyle in health, wealth and relationships. He came to us from Malaysia where he is much respected. The programme was well attended and positive feedback was revived. We are very grateful to Surjit Ji for sparing his time helping our Sadh Sangat in this way.

- We would like to say a big thank you to all the Sewadaars who spared their valuable time and attended the Gurdwara Sahib for a day of "Kar Sewa". Big progress was made on the new multi purpose room upstairs and also clearing out many old items no longer needed that were cluttering up the Gurdwara Sahib. I would like to propose that we hold a "Kar Sewa" day every last Sunday of the Month to give the entire Gurdwara Sahib a good clean (Diwan Hall's, Langar Hall, Kitchen, Entrance Hall's etc). This will also bring the Sadh Sangat closer together and promote the many values of Sikhi. We will need to ensure that it does not coincide or clash with any bookings for Anand Karaj at the Gurdwara Sahib, so I will email you all nearer the time, each month and also have this announced in the main Saturday Diwan beforehand.

- As we have done in previous years, the Sikh community of Manchester collectively held a Nagar Kirtan to celebrate Vaisakhi and give the opportunity to share our religious beliefs with the wider community. This took place on Sunday 3rd May 2009. We would like to thank all the Sadh Sangat of Manchester and the North West for attending and supporting the Manchester Nagar Kirtan. The day was superbly attended and the feedback from the police regarding the conduct of the Sangat was impeccable. It is at community events like this, we need to be united and at our strongest to show the population that we are fun loving, peaceful people who have integrated well and contributed so much to the British society and yet have not lost any of our values. A very big well done all. Ofcourse there are always issues and area to improve, so if anyone does have any feedback, please do email me and I shall forward it on to the organising committee.

- We confirm that we are pleased to announce the arrival of our new Hazoori Ragi Jatha to Central Gurdwara. They are Harpreet Singh Preet Ji, Gurbhej Singh Preet Ji and Gurpreet Singh Preet Ji. They will be staying with us for a period of 6 months. They arrived on Saturday afternoon and recited kirtan gurbani on Saturday evening itself. - Gyani Harinder Singh Ji (Alwar Wale) was with us in Manchester on 6th/7th/8th February for a special 3 day programme. It was truly inspirational to listen to and learn from his Katha. In fact I would go as far as saying it was absolutely amazing and out of this world. All the recordings have been uploaded onto our website and are ready to listen to or download.
We are very grateful to Gyani Ji to find the time and come to Manchester to help educate us on Gurbani and Gurmat Vichaar.

- After a lot of publicising the sanskar samagam was held at Central Gurdwara. Sewadars were working for two hours to keep the sanskar going, but only 30% of the material was respectfully cremated as per gurmat maryada. We urge people to continue to bring any material containing gurbani or portraits of gurus which can no longer be looked after with the required respect as there will be more sessions in coming weeks.

- Chardi Kala Jatha visited Central Gurdwara to perform Kirtan. The programme was incredibly inspirational and thoroughly enjoyed by all the Sadh Sangat.

- The Gurdwara main amplifier system has been moved and all speaker wiring, microphone wiring and microphone's have been replaced with new items. This had become very nescessary due to the constant humming, buzzing and interference. If you listen to all the older early MP3 recordings on our site and then listen to Chardi Kala Jatha and Rangila Ji recordings and after, you will see a massive improvement in quality and that is very evident in the Gurdwara main hall also. We are very grateful to Amrik Singh Ji from Chase for the Sewa of the 6 new Microphone's.

- Belmont School came for a Educational Visit to the Gurdwara which lasted three hours in total. The 17 students and 4 teachers left very happy and gave good positive feedback. - Work is now complete on our new Sukhaasan Room. The Gurdwara Sahib and Sadh Sangat is very grateful to Sardar Kavil Singh Nerwan for the complete SEWA of this new Sukhaasan Room. - Work has started on the new Sukhasan Room at the back of the Main Diwan Hall. The Gurdwara Sahib gratefully appreciates this SEWA and is very thankful to Sardar Kavil Singh Nerwan of Arrk Footwear Ltd. for his donation for the complete SEWA of this new Sukhasan Room and overseeing the entire project himself.

- Students from Fridays Gurmat Classes presented a program on Vaisakhi in the main diwan today. It was a great success and appreciated by all the sadh sangat. It has greatly raised the confidence of the participants and will hopefully be an integral part in future events.

- Asa Di Var was held on Saturday morning at 7.30am as part of our Vaisakhi celebrations. Plans are being made to hold this every Saturday morning. We would welcome feedback from the Sadh Sangat on this. You can do this at the Gurdwara in person or by email to info@centralgurdwara.org

- Bhai Balkar Singh Azad Ji (Amritsar Wale) and Jatha arrive at Central Gurdwara to carry out all Granthi duties as our new resident Granthi/Ragi.

- Work is now near complete in our Langar Hall. Much work still needs to be done including Toilets, Main Diwan Hall Ceiling and a new Babaji Sukhasan Room. Thank you to the Sadh Sangat for their generosity in a request for donations. £479 was raised in total.
