From Central Gurdwara Manchester
Langar is a free meal, which is served after services at gurdwaras for all, regardless of caste, creed, gender or religion. At Central Gurdwara, langar is prepared and served everyday.
Any family or individual can book the langar for the main diwan, which is on Saturday evening, or for a special diwan (gurpurabs) or for a routine langar on any weekday. There is an easy option for more than one family to collectively take this sewa.
If langar is not booked either for the main diwans or a weekday, it is prepared from the Gurdwara funds. Gurdwara sahib maintains a constant stock of basic ingredients (rasad) and needs regular help from sewadars to prepare the langar.
This is a very pious sewa and one can contribute as a sewadar (by personally helping to prepare langar), buying and bringing various ingredients or donating any sum of money (small or large) for this on-going expense.
Please request langar bookings by contacting Bhai Satnam Singh Ji on 0161 832 2241 at Gurdwara sahib or Avtar Singh Manku Ji on 07891 699209
